Conjugate Margins Conference 2017

ST JOHN'S, NEWFOUNDLAND, CANADA

From the 20th to the 23rd of August 2014, the 4th Atlantic Conjugate Margins Conference was held in St John's. Organised by Ian Atkinson and Michael Enachescu the conference built on the success of previous events, with over 350 delegates taking part.

The organising committee for the following conference in Brazil brought along several abstracts and students to show case Northeast Brazil's marginal basin geology. Students from the Federal University of Pernambuco won 3rd place in the poster prize competition and 1st prize for best oral presentation (right, Masters student,
Bruno Varela, centre, receives 1st prize from the event organisers for his presentation entitled 'Identification of volcanic structures from the Albian Syn-rift Magmatic Event in Pernambuco Basin, Northeastern of Brazil: 2D seismic data').

The organisers for the 5th Atlantic Conjugate Margins Conference would like to congratulate St John's on a very successful event.

3RD AMC, DUBLIN, IRELAND

A most successful Third Central & North Atlantic Conjugate Margins Conference took place in Trinity College, Dublin from 22nd to 24th August 2012. 277 delegates from 17 countries attended the conference. Many delegates also attended the four field trips held in the West of Ireland, Northern Ireland, Southern England and southern Portugal.

1ST AMC, HALIFAX, CANADA

The brain child of David Brown and Grant Wach came to pass on the 13th-15th August, 2008. David and Grant remained very much key to the success of all future AMCs.

2ND AMC, LISBON, PORTUGAL

29th September - 1st October 2010. With field trips to Portugal's beautiful coast and to Morocco, the 2nd Conjugate Margins Conference was where the idea of bring to the conference to Brazil was born.
