ST JOHN'S, NEWFOUNDLAND, CANADAFrom the 20th to the 23rd of August 2014, the 4th Atlantic Conjugate Margins Conference was held in St John's. Organised by Ian Atkinson and Michael Enachescu the conference built on the success of previous events, with over 350 delegates taking part.
The organising committee for the following conference in Brazil brought along several abstracts and students to show case Northeast Brazil's marginal basin geology. Students from the Federal University of Pernambuco won 3rd place in the poster prize competition and 1st prize for best oral presentation (right, Masters student, Bruno Varela, centre, receives 1st prize from the event organisers for his presentation entitled 'Identification of volcanic structures from the Albian Syn-rift Magmatic Event in Pernambuco Basin, Northeastern of Brazil: 2D seismic data').
The organisers for the 5th Atlantic Conjugate Margins Conference would like to congratulate St John's on a very successful event.
